2020 Volvo V60 T5 Cross Country Test Drive in Canadian Rockies

I’m test driving the 2020 Volvo V60 T5 Cross Country. Like Volvo’s entire line of cars, its the first redesign since 2015. Volvo’s minimalistic clean lines and high tech capabilities are represented in spades. I love the 9″ Sensus Touchscreen center display and 12.3″ Digital Driver Display behind the steering wheel. It has a standard power-operated tailgate and it just takes a touch of a button to fold the rear seats flat.

With a 2.0 liter, four-cylinder direct injection turbo petrol engine at 250 horsepower and 258 foot pounds of torque, the V60 is sporty and responsive on these winding roads.

But what I really want to know is just how well the Cross Country station wagon handles out here in the Canadian Rockies. I shift into the Off Road drive mode and start my climb to the Kicking Horse Mountain Summit.

I could definitely feel the difference that the wider chassis, higher ground clearance, better suspension and tough body cladding made on the overall ride and comfort. I like that the standard Hill Descent Control kicks in automatically braking the car to maintain steady progress.

From city sport to off-road adventure, the 5-passenger Volvo V60 can handle anywhere the roads take you with the Scandinavian style and comfort Volvo is known for.
