How to clean your car

Park your car away from direct sunlight. This will prevent drying too quickly which may leave traces on the paint.
Gather everything you need near the car.
Fill a bucket of water and add soap in the amount indicated on the container.
Fill another bucket with only clear water.
Make sure that all windows are closed and retract the antenna.
Water the car with the jet to rinse the dirt and detach the mud. Do not use a jet that is too strong to throw the dirt particles onto the paint and scratch it. Try to spray all surfaces by directing the spray down. Aiming directly around the windows can cause water to enter the car if the rubber seals are not in good condition.
Straighten the windscreen wipers to the maximum, until they stand alone away from the windscreen.
Plunge a large cleaning glove or sponge into soapy water, making sure they do not get any dirt and start washing the car. Do not use a brush on the bodywork ̶ it would leave micro scratches.
Wash the car section by section, starting at the top. Turn around the vehicle several times, washing the lower parts with each turn.
Rinse the dirt frequently by dipping the cleaning glove or sponge into the bucket of clear water.
When a section is washed, rinse it with a jet. You would not want soap residues to dry on the paint and stain.

As you go, keep the body wet. This will prevent the droplets from drying out and leaving traces of water on the paint. You will need to dry the car with a towel before it dries out in the air.
Rub the rocker panels and wheel rims last, since these are the dirtiest parts. It is advisable to use another cleaning glove or other sponge for these lower parts.
Use a long, fine wheel brush to clean the rim openings. If the rims are shiny, instead use a sponge or glove to clean them after removing the bulk of the dirt, as you did for the bodywork.
Clean the sidewall of the tires with a plastic brush.

At one point, think of scrubbing the underside of the car, from different angles, thanks to a powerful jet. This is especially important if the car has been exposed to salt.
Dry the vehicle with clean towels.
