Clean Up Woman – Time Shifted to 130 bpm
Time-Shifted to 130 bpm using Pro Tools LE v 8.0 on a MacBook Pro. Betty Wright was born 21st December 1953. She began singing with the family gospel group The Echoes of Joy. Wright switched to R&B music in 1965 when she was only eleven years old. In 1968 she released her first album ‘My First Time Around’ and scored her first hit single “Girls Can’t Do What Guys Can Do” on Alston, part of TK Studio and Record company in Florida. However it was not until the end of 1971 that the most successful phase of her career took place. The song, “Clean Up Woman” became a major pop and R&B hit, remaining at #2 for eight weeks on the R&B chart and reaching #6 on the pop listing. “Clean Up Woman” was written by Steve Alaimo and stayed for 14 weeks in the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It sold over a million copies and was granted the R.I.A.A gold disc award on 30th December 1971. Along with her grandson D.J Wright, Betty Wright was tragically killed in a car accident on July 5th 2008.
